Atlantic City residents and Atlantic City Casino employees may be eligible to participate in the Atlantic City Works Program. The program provides training to Atlantic City residents who are unemployed or under-employed and Atlantic City Casino Employees who require training to help maintain your current job or obtain advancement.

The South Jersey Training Program (Get Into Energy)

The program is designed to create a pipeline of entry-level utility candidates. The free program is offered at one of four community colleges in southern New Jersey. Participating colleges include Atlantic Cape Community College, Camden County College, Rowan College of South Jersey, Salem County College.

ADULT BASIC EDUCATION/ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE/HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY

Atlantic Cape Community College, through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor, offers free Adult Education classes. English as a Second Language classes are offered at the Worthington Atlantic City campus September through May in both the morning and the evening. Classes include beginner level ESL classes, as well as College Pathways classes, which prepare students to enter the college as credit students. Adult Education classes are offered at the Worthington Atlantic City campus, three days per week. High School Equivalency Preparation classes (GED) are offered at the Worthington Atlantic City Campus morning, afternoon or evening. All classes are free. Placement testing is required for all classes.

School Counts!

School Counts! is a high school program in which students have the opportunity to earn a School Counts Certificate annually which can be presented to employers when applying for an entry-level job. School Counts applicants will be strong candidates for the ACCESS scholarship funds through the Atlantic Cape Foundation and the Atlantic Cape Leadership program with training provided by the college's Counseling & Support Services department.
